Glasses

Some artwork for a change. So summer's officially underway in my book, and it seems like I have to make this drawing stuff happen myself. No one telling me I have to for now. Here's a little fun I had in my sketchbook drawing some dudes, with the restriction that they needed to have glasses. There's even a ninja! Whoever can find him first, gets to be first!

Killman Killman, but nothing to do with Killman really.

When trying to animate fails, make a live action short! This sequel stars myself as the sleep deprived, hallucinating, animator, and Maanav "MJ" Sandhe as my Indian, taco bell craving sidekick/cubemate. Taking the backseat behind the scenes this time around were a couple of my friends who CAN animate, Skyler Page and Nelson Boles. Enjoy!

PORTFOLIO UPDATE

I've updated my portfolio.
It's a work in progress and I'll probably be adding or taking away from it as I deem necessary.

1st year film.

Ship Bird Wave from Ryan Matias on Vimeo.

Well here it is, this sums up the past 3 or so months of my life. I totally understand it's faults and shortcomings, and that's what it's all about, learnin' and stuff! The music was done by my good budd Scott Inumerable. Can't wait for the next one!

SHIP BIRD WAVE.

I'M DONE WITH MY FILM!

An adventure it was. Much sleep I sacrificed. Knowledge I did gain. Proud of myself I am.

The CalArts Character Animation Open Show is Saturday April 25 starting at ehh 2PM I think, I'll change this if it's otherwise. Come check it out and I promise you won't be disappointed. The work I've seen so far this year is astounding!

Lights n' ice.

I've started snapping photos of interesting/inspiring things that I see around me on a day to day basis. These are photos taken in my cubicle of my animation light and a cup I had from lunch with ice in it. The ice had this awesome red/purple color to it from the cranberry juice that was in it, and I put the cup over my animation disk with the light on and it turned out looking like that. I've been thinking of what I could do with these images and was thinking they might be cool for some kind of title or credit sequence. That's enough for now, 10 more days til films are due holy shit!!!

Kill Man

This here's some science in action! Me and a couple of my buddies filmed this as a
presentation for a superhero we created. His name's Kill Man, and his awesomeness is
evident in the preceding clip, so watch it!

Disclaimer: most of the above awesome drawingness is not mine.
